Choosing the right products on your skin and hair is not really that hard but you just need to record the products that you have been using and also its effects. Choosing an expensive one over the affordable products is not always the case. It is much important to use or buy products that deliver the best performance on your skin or hair. You can list it in your beauty diary if possible. List the best combination products that you are using. For instance I have been using different brands on facial wash, soap, deodorant, toner, face cream, body lotion, face powder and loose powder. I list the different brands that go well if used together. Remember that the five basic skin care for clear skin is cleanse, exfoliate, tone, moisturize and protect.
Do you know that for these five basic steps I used different brands on my skin? The reason was that I’ve been loyal to the other products in the past until now or I cannot possibly afford the other products within the same brand. I also believe that if it delivers the same effect on my skin then why do I have to pay for more? Well wise spending is still the best. So when you already list the products that you have been using you have to observe the effects on your skin. If the products that you are using causes reddening or pimples then junk the product and retain the ones that works best.

What Kind of A shopper are you?
I have answered a few questions on this site and here are the results:
You Are a Loyal Shopper |
You are a very picky shopper and tend to be loyal to a few brands. You are willing to pay extra to buy from a brand you trust. Of all the types, you're the most likely to own many designer items. You don't seek out sales as much as most people... unless it's a sale at your favorite store! |

Skin Whitening Cream that I’ve been using
I’ve been using Nivea Visage Day Cream for more than six years already. The first nivea visage day cream that I’ve used in my early twenties is the one with a tube container but over the years they have changed their formulations and container. I’ve used the one in cream form in the past which is specifically for twenty something but now I’ve already applied the nivea visage whitening cream for thirty plus because of my age. The cream for thirty plus ladies is specifically formulated for age defying effects and it has more SPF/UVA sunscreen to delay ageing.
What makes me loyal to this kind of whitening cream is that it really hydrates my skin and it doesn’t clog pores or cause reddening or pimples like the other products that I’ve tried in the past. In terms of the whitening effects It does not deliver the performance that I’ve expected but in terms of giving moisture and hydration my rating is perfect ten. My total rating for this product is 8/10. How about you have you tried Nivea Visage? What cream or lotion have you been using on your skin and what are the effects?

How to remove gallstones naturally
Have you heard of the gallstone flush? There are people who got gallstone and normally the procedure for this kind of illness is surgery but this recipe is the alternative approach. Words of warning though before doing the gallstone flush please consult your doctor first. I cannot accept responsibility for any consequence that may arise out of failure by the reader to take medical advice. This is the three day gallstone flush that according to my trusted source works for her.
The Recipe:
4 Gallons of Apple Juice
4 Gallons of distilled water
½ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
¼ cup fresh crushed lemon juice
1 tablespoon tomato juice
1 straw
Doing the cleanse and the fasting
Consult your doctor before doing this cleanse. Look for freshly-pressed, raw apple juice in the supermarket or if you have a juicer, you could use freshly made apple juice. Otherwise bottled unsweetened apple juice is fine. Prepare yourself for a four day fast. That means nothing by mouth except the apple juice and water for four days
Each day for four days, drink up to one gallon of apple juice and up to one gallon of distilled water and eat crackers once in a while if you get really hungry. On the evening of the third day, when you are tired and ready for bed, drink ½ cup of extra virgin olive oil. Chill the oil – it taste better cold and use a straw to sip it. It is better to not let it touch your lips to minimize unpleasantness of the oil. Right after drinking the olive oil drink ¼ cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Then go directly to bed and lie down on your right side with two pillows under the right hip. You may change your position after four of five hours
At some point after drinking the oil and lemon, you might feel like vomiting or burping. Sip a little tomato juice but not more than a tablespoon of it. Hold it in your mouth and then spit it out. You might also experience nausea. Don’t worry imagine your stones being pushed out of your gallbladder. On the morning of the fourth day, expect to pass stones. They normally float on water. Slowly get back to your regular eating pattern but very gradually so as not to shock your digestive system. Start with soup, salad and then slowly fish.

Skin care for oily skin
Do you need to moisturize or not? If your skin is oily then moisturizing may not be necessary on a daily basis. However if your face feels tight after washing then apply a light oil free moisturizer. In choosing the right make up, you need to use oil-free especially in foundation and blush. Make up that is water based and non comedogenic that wont clog pores is the right choice. You can use a translucent powder instead of a liquid foundation that is formulated to soak oil while providing coverage. Lastly you have to drink plenty of water to cleanse your system and keep you hydrated.

How to apply smudge free mascara
Here is a trick to make your lashes appear longer. To make your lashes appear longer you have to tap the mascara brush only on the tips of the lashes and you’ll see them get longer right before your very eyes. Piece of advise make sure to use waterproof mascara.

Treating dark circles and Eye bags
Dark circles and eye bags are the result of stress and it helps if you get a full night’s sleep. Puffiness comes from poor health, lack of exercise and hydration. You have to drink at least 6 glasses of water a day to keep yourself hydrated. You can do aerobic exercises or yoga to boost circulation and bring oxygen to your skin. Never smoke and invest in nourishing eye contour product instead. You can use a nightly eye cream to soothe, moisturize and brighten your eyes. In the daytime you can use sunscreen to keep your skin from getting darker. It also helps to wear concealer to camouflage darkness. The simplest cure for eye bag is you can put a sliced cold cucumber at night before you sleep. You can treat yourself with eye contour once a week with intensive products that targets bags, circles, fine lines and dullness.

How to fight blemishes and clear pimples
Wash your face with gentle cleanser to clear your skin of grime and excess oil. You have to use tepid water because hot water kick starts oil production. You have to teat your skin with an oil-free moisturizer and then target zits with an anti-blemish product to dry them out. You can conceal blemishes with a concealer using a brush for precise application. Blend around the blemish with your finger, and then brush loose powder on top to set your concealer in place.
Never pick on your zits because it will just be irritated and it will leave a scar. Use a zit or pimple clearing cream with benzoyl peroxide. Apply zit cream with a cotton tip and tap directly onto the zit. Rubbing cream around the zit will only dry the surrounding skin. Skip skin drying astringent and opt for an alcohol-free toner instead. Keep skin hydrated with an oil free moisturizer to keep oil levels at bay. Conceal zits with a concealer that’s one or two shades darker than your skin. Concealer that is lighter than your own skin tone will only highlight the zit, making it look bigger.

Tips in applying concealer
Concealer is a heavier version of the foundation. If you are using concealer with a foundation, go one shade lighter than the foundation. If. You are just using concealer without the foundation; make sure the concealer matches your skin tone. This can be quite tricky since the shades are far fewer than the foundation. If you choose the wrong color (if the color is too light) you’ll end up attracting more attention to the area you want to be covered. Or if you choose a darker color, you’ll end up looking more tired. But if you get a great match, then you’ll look perfect and flawless. The concealer instantly camouflages blemishes and sunspots and eliminates redness and, of course, under-eye circles. This will make you look well rested and wide-awake, even when you feel and look the opposite.
That’s not the only magic a concealer can do. When worn on bare skin or carefully applied on top of foundation, a concealer makes your skin look refreshed and polished that you may not need a lot of other makeup.
It is really very challenging to find the right shade and texture. Once you get it, though, it will become easier. Always remember that a little goes a long way. A smudge of concealer is already a lot. If you put a lot, it would only emphasize the problem that you are trying to hide. Even when you are blemish-free, there are places where concealer works as a miracle. Under the eyes to cover dark circles, around the nostrils, on the outer corner of the eyes where it’s often reddish. Sometimes foundation alone can take the place of the concealer
Types of concealer
A concealer comes in three types:
Cream – Gives heavy full coverage with a dewy finish.
Liquid – provides the sheerest coverage with the lightest finish.
Stick – offers medium coverage in a creamy finish. This is perfect for spider veins, acne scars. The problem with stick concealer sometimes is the cakiness. Mature skin will have a hard time with stick concealer because it could emphasize the lines around the eye area. Do not forget to prep the eye area with an eye cream to hydrate it before applying concealer.
Remember that yellow-based tones look good on all kinds of complexion and orange-based tones blend well with dark skin. Never use a concealer with a hint of white in them. They will turn into a dirty shade of gray as the day progresses. Also do not forget to apply loose powder after putting your concealer. This will set the concealer and minimize the creases that normally appear under the eye area.

Make-up for dry skin
In choosing a blush for your cheeks, blush in cream or liquid form because it gives you added moisture and natural glow. Your blush color depends on your complexion. Fair & light complexion looks good in shades of pink, pastels and rose. Medium to light tan like those of Asian and Latin heritage looks good in shades of peach, bronze and red while those of the darker tones looks good in darker shades of red like maroon. You must smile and put a blush to where you naturally blush or on the fleshy part of your cheeks.

Why are make-up and cosmetics important to women?
Make up or cosmetics play a big part in accentuating our assets and hiding our flaws. We all know people love aesthetics so we strive to be beautiful and create beautiful things as well. It is also the main cause for the multi-million dollar income of beauty companies whether it is cosmetics, aesthetics plastic surgery clinics, Salon and Spa treatments, even fitness gym and the fashion industry. People invest their hard earned money to look a certain way- to be beautiful – in the eyes of the society. So many experiments has been made regarding the treatment of the beautiful and the ugly or even the plain in the eyes of out society. Even if what other people say about numerous things about this but the truth is still – people responded well to the beautiful than to its’ opposite. More people give better opportunity to the appealing beauty than to the latter especially in the celebrity and elite community as well as in the fashion and beauty industry. So this is the main reason why cosmetics and beauty products are made to celebrate beauty to bring out our best assets - a beautiful face. In applying make up there is always the golden rule – less is better and learn to be creative in choosing colors to always update your style. You can also try to use colors to match your wardrobe, bags or shoes – a kind of mix and match. Updated make up style of application and colors makes you appear fresh and trendy.

Make-up for a shine free face
It also gives the most coverage and is much more long lasting compared to other textures of makeup. It is ideal for oily complexions and for people with combination skin.
Word of advice, though: If your skin tends to be on the dry side, matte cosmetics should be avoided. This would further emphasize the dryness and would further emphasize the dryness and would make you look like a dried prune. But as with any make up, it is always best to start with a good skin. No amount of makeup can hide badly cared skin. If you decide to use matte makeup, it is very important to exfoliate your skin regularly to prevent matte finish from appearing flaky.
Once a week exfoliation is good for normal skin, and three times a week is ideal for oily skin. Do not over-exfoliate, though, since this might strip away the skins natural oils.
Always wear a light moisturizer first before applying makeup. Be sure to let the skin absorb the lotion before applying your make up. Blot away excess products using a facial tissue or face blotter.
When choosing the foundation for your matte make up, look for oil free, anti shine or oil control in the label. For the base, you can use powder foundation, liquid foundation (do not forget to choose an oil-free formula to get the same matte result) or if you are the type who doesn’t like wearing foundation but wants to have that matte complexion, you can try some make up base that doubles as a mattifier.
Rule of thumb when applying a matte blusher: avoid the apple of the cheeks and keep the color further back and on – but not under – your cheekbones, for a more sophisticated look. Powder blushes are usually the ones with matte finish. This rule also applies when choosing your base. Just look for the word matte on the label.
When applying matte lipstick, outline lips with a lip pencil first and carefully blend the edges with a rubber tip-smudging tool. Use a lip brush when applying matte lipstick. Some matte lipsticks can feel dry. To counteract this smooth on some lip balm first, leave on for a few seconds then blot before applying the lipstick.
